What is the IAIM?
Accredited by The Royal College of Midwives, the IAIM promotes nurturing touch through education and research. They train thousands of baby massage instructors with the most comprehensive courses available in the UK today.
Do you need a qualification to teach baby massage?
Yes. To teach baby massage as an instructor in the UK, you must qualify with an accredited baby massage teacher training provider. You can train to teach baby massage with the IAIM, where you will learn theory from an international core curriculum as well as massage strokes on a doll and train as part of a parent/baby massage class.

What age should you start baby massage?
There is no set age or timeline for when to start massaging your newborn baby. Although nurturing touch can be given from birth, experts agree that it is usually best to begin after the first few weeks of birth.
Is baby massage safe for newborns?
There are no set guidelines regarding the minimum age for when to start baby massage. Some babies may find formal, structured massage too stimulating in the very early weeks.
When can I start using a baby massage oil?
For babies under four weeks old, the NHS recommends to massage without oil. When you're ready to start using a baby massage oil, choose a product that is clinically approved to use from newborn upwards, such as Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil.
