Kokoso Nappy Cream

The Best Thing For Nappy Rash - Kokoso's Ingredients Explained

Our lovely customers have been telling us for years how wonderfully well Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil works on nappy rash. That’s why we finally decided to develop the ultimate nappy cream – made, of course, with premium organic coconut oil and enriched with highly beneficial natural ingredients known for their amazing protective and healing properties.

Here we explore the key ingredients in our Happy Nappy Cream, and why we believe they’re best choice for your little one’s delicate nappy area.

Coconut oil

The benefits of coconut oil for nappy rash are well known. Cold-pressed organic coconut oil is packed with soothing anti-inflammatory properties and gentle yet effective bacteria-fighting properties, helping to soothe redness and keep sensitive bottoms fresh and happy. Coconut oil is also deeply moisturising, helping to keep delicate skin soft and hydrated.

Zinc oxide

Zinc oxide is a trace mineral, often found in foods, which the body needs to grow and function properly. Not only is zinc oxide an anti-inflammatory, it also has antibacterial properties that can prevent or reduce skin infections. We use non-nano zinc oxide, which is better for baby's skin because the particles are larger than 100nm and therefore won't penetrate the skin. It creates a healing barrier on skin, providing immediate comfort and effective protection from irritants like baby poo. Zinc is primarily used to treat nappy rash, but can also be used in natural suncreams and to help with skin irritations such as eczema, minor cuts, burns or scrapes.

Squalane

Plant-based squalane is an ultra-hydrating source of fatty acids and antioxidants, helping to keep skin deeply moisturised, soft and smooth. Often used in high-end face creams, squalane occurs naturally in plant oils and is also found in the sebum of our own skin.

Beeswax

Beeswax is known for its emollient, soothing and softening properties. It contains vitamin A, essential for human cell development, not to mention amazing antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiallergenic and antioxidant properties.

Kokoso Nappy Cream Hygienic Packaging

Easy and Hygienic Packaging

As well as selecting the best natural ingredients, we’ve chosen the perfect packaging too. Our Happy Nappy Cream formula comes in a super handy press-down pot, designed to help with the stresses of one-handed nappy changes and wriggly little ones!

Paediatrician Approved for Sensitive Skin

If your baby has sensitive skin or is prone to rashes, you can be confident that our Natural Nappy Cream is specifically formulated for sensitive skin and can even be used by little ones prone to eczema. The fragrance-free formula is also paediatrician approved and suitable to use from birth upwards.

What is the fastest way to get rid of a nappy rash?

  • Change dirty nappies as soon as possible.
  • Be thorough yet gentle when cleaning the nappy area.
  • Allow the skin to dry before applying a zinc nappy cream such as Kokoso’s Happy Nappy Cream.
  • Apply the nappy cream thickly to prevent the moisture and irritants of baby’s wee and poo from reaching the skin.
  • Allow as much nappy-free time as possible to help their skin breathe.
  • Use an ultra mild bath wash such as Kokoso's fragrance-free Gentle Hair & Body Wash

If your baby's nappy rash is severe or persistent, it's important to consult a healthcare professional.

Remember to patch test any new products on a small area of your baby's skin before applying them to the entire nappy area.
